Getting There

Bergen is easy to get to, from the rest of Norway and from abroad. You can fly to Bergen direct from more than 30 central destinations in Europe. From the biggest transport hubs, such as Amsterdam, Copenhagen, London, Helsinki, Tokyo, Stockholm, Reykjavik and Oslo, you only need to change planes once to get here from other more distant cities.

Airport bus

The best way to travel from the Bergen airport to Scandic Bergen City Hotel is to use the airport bus (Bergen flybussen). The bus runs about every 15 min. and takes approx. 30 min. from the airport to the center of Bergen. Ticket can be purchased online or at the buss stop in the airport using credit card or cash (local currency only). Take the Airport shuttlebus from outside the Arrivals terminal at Bergen Airport Flesland. The bus will stop by the Radisson SAS Hotel Norge, then walk along Olav Kyrresgate (straight ahead) for 3 blocks. Turn right into Håkonsgaten and the Scandic Bergen City hotel is at number 2, see the location here.

You can also take the Flybuss Bergen shuttlebus from outside the Arrivals terminal. This bus will stop outside the hotel.

Bergen Airport Taxis

Almost all of the taxi drivers in Bergen speak English. The taxi terminal is located just outside the main terminal building.

Prices taxi Bergen Airport to/from center of Bergen

Taxi: approx. NOK 300,- to the center of Bergen (rush hour approx. NOK 350,-),
Night time before 6am: around NOK 600,-. The price differs with time zones. Night time and weekend are more expensive. All taxi accept credit card and cash.

 

Bergen – By train

The Bergen Railway between Oslo and Bergen is an experience in itself. Discover some of the most beautiful landscapes in Norway. The trip from Oslo to Bergen takes approximately 7 hours. Train tickets are bought either in advanced at the Norwegian railway company’s (NSB) web page, at the railway station or on board the train (extra charges apply). Bergen – By plane via Oslo

You may also fly to Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, and then go by train to Bergen. The best way to travel from Oslo airport to the Oslo central railway station is by airport express train.  From Oslo central railway station, there are frequent direct train connections between Oslo and Bergen, see (NSB) web page.

The journey from Oslo to Bergen by train or car takes you through spectacular mountains, crossing one of Europe’s highest mountain Plateaus. So if you have the time, we recommend that you travel across the mountains either to or from the conference. The Bergen Railway between Oslo and Bergen is a tourist attraction by itself.
